let son's age is 'x' years .so his father's age is 3x.
after 8 years,
therefore,son's age is 'x+8' his fathers age is 2 and half times sons age
so
3x+8=5/2(x+8)
..x=24 fathers age =3(24)=72
after 8 years son's age=32 and fathers age is 80
again after 8 years son's age=40 and father's age is 88
therefore fathers age is 2.2 times of son's age.
THANK YOU.
