Given :

Present age of father is 4 times the age of his son.

Age of father when his son born = 30 yrs

To find :

Present age of Father and his son.

Solution :

Let the present age of the son be X .

Then the present age of father be 4X .

Also ,

We know that father was 30 yrs old when his son is born.

Then we can conclude that,

Father's age = son's age + 30

$\longrightarrow\bf{4X = X + 30}$

$\longrightarrow\bf{4X-X= 30}$

$\longrightarrow\bf{3X= 30}$

$\longrightarrow\bf{X= \dfrac{30}{3}}$

$\longrightarrow\bf{X= 10}$

∴ The son's present age = 10 years.

ie,

Father's present age = 4X = 4 x 10 = 40 years.

The required answer -
