When soil remains undisturbed due to tillage, while growing crops or pasture, it is referred to as zero tillage.
It is also known as no-till farming or direct drilling.
This agricultural technique was developed in 1940’s by Edward Faulkner, author of Plowman’s Folly, thus he is called the father of zero tillage.
