Let the age of the son be x years

Age of the father = 4x years

16 years later :-

Father's age = 4x + 16

Son's age = × + 16

According to the question:-

4x+16 = 2(x+16)

4x+16 = 2x+32

4x-2x = 32-16

2x = 16

x = 16/2

x = 8

Present age of son = x years = 8 years

Present age of father = 4x years = 4×8 years

= 32 years
