let the fathers age be x yrs
the sum of their sons age be a+b
acc to 1st condition
x=3(a+b)=3a+3b.......(1)
acc to 2nd condition
x+5=2(a+5+b+5)
x+5=2a+2b+20
therefore x=2a+2b+15.......(2)
equating (1) and (2) we get
a+b=15
sub this value in (1) we get
x=45
therefore the age of the father is 45years.

Let age of father = x

Let sum of the ages of the two children be = y

According to the question :-

x = 3y ....(1)

---After 5 years, ages will be----

Father's age = x + 5

Sum of the two children = y + 5 + 5 ( since this "y" comprises ages of two people, the addition needs to be done twice )

According to the question :-

x + 5 = 2 ( y + 10 )

=》 x + 5 = 2y + 20

Due to (1)

=》 3y + 5 = 2y + 20

=》 y = 15

Age of father = 3y = 3 × 15 = 45 years
