Solution:-

Given:-

1) Father's age is three times the sum of the age of his two children

2) After 5 year his age will be twice the Sum of the ages of two children

let,

x and y be the age of their two children respectively.

hence,

father's present age is 3(x+y).

age of children after 5 years

= x+5+y+5

= x+y+10

age of the father after 5 years

=> 2(x+y+10) OR 3(x+y)+5

=> 2x+2y+20 = 3x+3y+5

=> 2x-3x + 2y-3y= -20+5

=> -(x+y) = -15

=> x+y = 15

=> 3(x+y) = 3(15)

=> 45

therefore, present age of father is 45.

i hope it helps you....

Answer:

45 yrs

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the age of the sons be x and y.

Present ages

child 1: x

child 2: y

Father: 3(x+y)

After 5 yrs

child 1:x+5

child 2:y+5

Father: 3(x+y)+5 or 2(x+y+10)

Therefore,

3(x+y)+5  = 2(x+y+10)

(3x+3y) +5 = (2x+2y+20)

(3x-2x+3y-2y) = 20-5

x+y=15

Now the age of father was 3(x+y)

                                            =3(15)         (Putting the value of x+y)

                                            =45
