Answer:

Let the present age of father be x

Let the present age of Soumya be y

Given father's present age is 4 times Soumya's age i.e x=4y-----------eqñ (l)

After 5 years

father will be x+5

Soumya will be y+5

After 5 years father's age will be three times I.e 3(y+5)=x+5

ATQ(According to question)

3(y+5)=x+5

3y+15=x+5

By putting the value of x given in eqn (l)

3y+15=4y+5

3y-4y=5-15

-y=-10

y=10

present age of Soumya =10

Present age of his father= x=4y

=4(10) i.e 40
