Solution :-

◍ Let the father's present age be x and Raju's age be y.

Case - I :

Condition - Father's present age is 4 times Raju's age.

Equation :

$\tt{=> x = 4\times y}\\\\\tt{=> x = 4y\:\:\:\:\: ....\:eq.\:i.)}$

Case - II :

Condition - After 5 years, father's age will be 3 times Raju's age.

Father's age after 5 years = x + 5

Raju's age after 5 years = y + 5

Equation :

$\tt{=> x + 5 = 3(y + 5)}\\ \\\tt{ => x + 5 = 3y + 15}\\ \\\tt{=> x = 3y + 15 - 5}\\ \\\tt{ => x = 3y + 10}$

Substituting the value of x from eq. i.)

$\tt{=> 4y = 3y + 10}\\ \\\tt {=> 4y - 3y = 10}\\ \\\tt{ => y = 10}$

Raju's present age = y = 10 years

Substituting the value of y in eq. i.)

$\tt{=> x = 4y}\\ \\ \tt{=> x = 4 \times 10}\\ \\\tt{ => x = 40}$

Father's present age = x = 40 years
