Let, x be there present age of the father viz, 48 & y be there present age of the boy.

8 years ago,

(x-8) = 4(y-8)

(48-8)=4(y-8)

40 = 4(y-8)

y-8 = 10

y = 18

Hence, there boy's present age is 18.
