suppose sons present age is X.
so father's present age is 3X + 3.
after 5 years father's age will be 3X +3 +5 and sons age will be X+5.
but here after five years father's age will be 12years more than twice the sons age
so the equation is 3X +3 +5 = (X+5) 2 +12
3x + 8=2x +10 +12
so x=14
so father's present age is 3x+3=3*14 + 3=45 years

Let the age of son be x years .

=>Father's age =3+3x

AFTER FIVE YEARS,

Son's age = x+5

=>Father's age = 3+3x+5
= 8+3x............. (1)

BUT ACCORDING TO THE QUESTION

=>Father's age= 12+2 (x+5)
8+3x=12+2x+10.......... (from (1))
8+3x=22+2x
3x-2x=22-8
x=14

=>Father's present age =3+3x
= 3+3×14
=3+42
=45 years
