The answers are given as follows:

(i) Fats are referred to as a class of macronutrients called triglycerides. It is an ester of fatty acid. They can be of there types: unsaturated, saturated and trans fat.

(ii) Food samples that contain fat are vegetable oil, ghee, butter, and many more.

(iii) When we rub the food sample containing fat against a white paper, we observe a greasy spot on the paper. It is also observed to be translucent as light shines through it. This patch remains even after the paper is dried in air, confirming that it is not water but fat.

(iv) When we rub the food sample which does not have fat against a white paper, we observe a wet patch. This is due to the presence of water in food. We can confirm that it is water and not oil by letting the paper dry and observe that the patch has disappeared.

(v) Yes, peanut contains fat. They contain monosaturated and polyunsaturated fats that help to lower the levels of bad cholesterol.
