- The reaction is-
- The oxidation state of Fe changes to +2 and Cu changes to 0 from +2.
- So, here Fe undergoes oxidation.
- Cu undergoes reduction.
- " The species which itself get reduced and help to oxidise another species called oxidising agent".
- Thus Copper sulphate is an oxidising agent.
- "The species which itself get oxidised and helps another species to undergo reduction called reducing agent".
- Fe is the reducing agent.
