Fe+cuso4=feso4+cu in this reaction iron nail become brownish in colour and the blue colour of copper sulphate solution fades.Why?

Answer:

this is because of displacement reaction. Fe being more reactive than copper as we can see in the reactivity series , therefore Fe displaces Cu to form feso4 .

When iron nails dissolve in Copper Sulphate solution there is change is color.

It is so because

Iron is more reactive then copper.

Iron nails displace copper ions.

Then Iron nails make it own sulphate solution.

The reaction reaction follow as

CuSO₄ + Fe = > FeSO₄ + Cu

This reaction is known as Displacement reaction.

Hence blue colour of copper sulphate solution fades.
