We have,

Step 1: Given equation is Fe + H2O -------> Fe3O4 +H2
Here,
             Reactants       Products
Fe                1                  3
H                  2                  2
O                  1                  4

Step 2:  Balancing the equation we get,

            3Fe + 4H2O ----------------->  Fe3O4 +4H2

               Reactants       Products
Fe                3                      3
H                 8                      8
O                 4                      4

Hence, equation balanced.

Hi friend !
____________________________________________________________

here is the equation :- Fe +4H2O→Fe3O4+H2
_______________________________________________________
here In reactants O has one atom and in products O has 4 atoms

so write 4 in front of H2O in  = 4H2O

but still equation isn't balance

and there is 3 atoms of Fe in products so write 3 in front of Fe on LHS

and now there is 6 atoms of H in LHS so write 4 in front of H in RHS

so the balanced equation is
_____________________________________________________________
3Fe +4 H2O→Fe3O4+4H2
