fe2o3+3co gives 2fe+3co2 if reaction is carried out by mixing 30gm of fe2o3 and 10gm of CO

1:calculate weight of iron produced
2 what volumr of co2 is produced at 30C and 730mm peessure

Answer:

From,balanced equation,

160 g Ferric oxide requires 84 g of CO.

For 30g Fe2O3 ,15.75 g CO is required.

But only 10 g is available.

Therefore,CO is the limiting reagent

From 84 g CO we get 112g Fe

So from 10g we get 13.3 g

For part 2 of the question,

10 g CO means 0.36 moles

From balanced equation,it is clear that,

3 moles CO releases 3 moles CO 2

Therefore,0.36moles CO2 is released.

Using PV=nRT

We get

P=700*133Pa ,R=8.314(SI)and T=303K

V=9.741mL

Hope it helps you!!
