Answer :

What happens to equilibrium when the concentration of the reactant or product is changed ?

=> When the concentration of  the reactant or product is changed ,the  system readjust itself by shifting the equilibrium which counteracts the change in concentration that was made.

According to the question:

Fe^{3+}(aq) + SCN^{-}(aq)   ⇄   FeSCN^{2+} (aq)

(yellow)                 (colourless)         (deep colour)

In this reaction  product ions are coloured and posses deep colour whereas one of the reactant is colourless.

NOW IN ACCORDANCE TO LE-CHATELIER'S PRINCIPAL :

If small amount of FeClFeCl_{3} is added, the colour of the solution becomes lighter. And this cause equilibrium to shift towards left, i.e deep red coloured FeSCNFeSCN^{2+} ions dissociate to give yellow coloured Fe^{3+} ions.

And thus the colour becomes lighter.

hope it helps :))

thanks :))
