1)Himalayas are geologically young and structurally fold mountains stretch over mother borders of India.
2)There are 3 ranges I.e. Himadri, Himachal and Shivaliks.
3)they protect is from attack by neighboring countries.
4)they are about 2400Km long and 400km in width.
5)they are responsible for rains by being as a barrier it turns back the monsoon wind which results in rainfall again I.e. after the seasons is over mainly in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.
