Answer:

In 1848 was a year of bad harvest, food shortage and unemployment. The people of Paris come out in the streets demanding food, raising barricades and insisting on the change of government. The three days protest in February unnerved king Louis Philippe. He abdicated the throne and fled to England. A National Assembly was convened once again; it abolished the monarchy and declared France a Republic. Suffrage was granted to all male adults above 21 years; jobs were guaranted and national workshops were set up. Moreover, Paris was already an international centre for the revolutionary exiles.
