2=t^{1/x} \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: 3=t^{1/y} \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \: 12=t^{1/z}

See that 12 = 2*2*3

from above, see what are the values of 12,3,2.

t^{1/z}=(t^{1/x})^2\times t^{1/y}

t^{1/z}=t^{2/x+1/y}

WHEN BASES ARE SAMe, powers are equal

1/z = 2/x + 1/y.

1/z - 1/y = 2/x
