Given :- Facing towards north, Ram walked 10meters. Then he turned right and walked 6 meters. He again turned to his right and walked 34 meters. Finally he turned left and walked 4 meters. How far is Ram from the starting point ?

Solution :-

from given data , making diagram we have,

• A = Starting Point
• AF = 10 m .
• FE = 6 m = BC .
• EC = 34 m .
• CD = 4m .
• D = End Point .
• FB = EC
• AB = FB - FA = 34 - 10 = 24 m.
• BD = BC + CD = 6 + 4 = 10 m.

in Right angle ∆ABD , we have,

→ AB² + BD² = AD² (By pythagoras theorem.)

→ 24² + 10² = AD²

→ 576 + 100 = AD²

→ AD² = 676

→ AD² = 26²

→ AD = 26 m. (Ans.)

Hence, Ram is 26 m far from the starting Point .
