Law and Society for Female Juveniles
In India, the juvenile court considers the judicial reaction to two aspects of a child: those who are in confrontation with the law because they have done something illegal, and those who require support and treatment from deprived and marginalised parts of the population. The most important foundation for dealing with juvenile justice is Section 2 of the Juvenile Justice Act of 1986 defines a juvenile as a boy under the age of sixteen or a girl under the age of eighteen. The growing number of female juveniles participating in the juvenile justice system emphasises the necessity to investigate the group. As a result, the proportion of juvenile court-involved adolescents who are female has increased.
