Female ovary produces one ovum at a time every month. This implies that not more than one zygote can form at a time. How are twins produced then?

this is different case which does occurs normally.

in this case both the ovary produce a ovum and it get fused with sperms. Hence this causes formation of twin which are not identical.

There is another case where after fertilization the single egg divides into two and forms two different foetus. this causes formation of identical twins.
