Explanation:

By the help of the displacement reaction, we can prepare ferrous sulphate. Firstly, we have to take a conical flask and put 10 grams of copper sulphate and fill the flask with 100 mL of water. Now, take an iron nails and put it into the solution of copper sulphate for ten minutes. After ten minutes, the solution becomes green because iron metal is more reactive than copper metal. So, iron displaces the copper atoms from the aqueous solution of copper sulphate. After getting the green solution called ferrous sulphate solution. Put the ferrous sulphate solution in the china dish and heat it with the help of spirit lamp. After few minutes, the crystal of ferrous sulphate is formed. The crystal of ferrous sulphate is green when it contains some amount of water of crystallization, but if you heat the solution very hardly then it's colour change from green to white.
