Fertilization is the process of fusion of male and female gamete..as soon as the fertilization occurs zygote forms and menstrual cycle will not appear until the embryo which later develops to a baby is born..
Menstrual cycle appears in the case ..when the egg is produced by the ovum but the fusion does not take place..that is the spongy layer developed to nourish the embryo will breakdown and come through the vagina as blood.

Hey user!
Here's ur answer!
Fertilization is usually denoted as the fusion of Female Gamete ( Ovum ) and the Male Gamete ( Sperm ).
It is believed that a women can't become pregnant in between the menstrual cycle.
But it is possible because if the sperm and ovum meet in the region between fallopian tube ( Ampullary Isthmtic Region) fertilization can occur.
Hope it helps!!
