Ferrous sulphate is a basic salt. When it is dissolved in water it is bound to display the following attribute:
FeSO4(s) --> Fe^2+(aq) + SO4^2-(aq)
The sulphate compound reacts with water to form HSO4 and OH radicals.
The OH is bound to reach with Fe ions to form a precipitate.
The precipitate also called ferrous hydroxide is a weak base In short it can be said that FeS04 is a basic salt
