This is a type of decomposition reaction. The colour of iron sulphate crystals are green and after the reaction takes place the colour changes to reddish brown.

ti iron sulphate is green in colour due to the water if crystallization, when heated the water molecules evaporate and green colour will change into colourless  

this reaction is known as decomposition reaction

FeSO4.7H2O on heating gives FeSO4 + 7H2O
