Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, born October 2 1869 in Porbandar is one of the most famous people in the world. His father's name was Karamchand Gandhi and his Mother's name was Putlibai. He spent a lot of his 20's and 30's in Africa, where he saw Indians taken as slaves. He returned to India in 1915. He set up a major part in Indian Independence. He was shot by a Hindu Fanatic, Naduram Vinayak Godsey, on January 30 1948.
