fiber optics cable carries signals in the form of fluctuating light in a glass or plastic cable. An optic fibre cable consists of glass or plastic core surrounded by a cladding of a similar material but with a lower refractive index. the core transmit the light while the change in refractive index between the core and the cladding causes total internal reflection, thus minimizingvthe loss of light from fibre.
