field in the form of a parallelogram has one
diagonal of 10 m long and the perpendicular
distance of this diagonal from either of the
outlying vertices is 10 m as shown in the figure.
Find the area of the field.

area of parallelogram = area of triangle ABC + area of triangle BCD

= 1/2×10×10+1/2×10×10

=50+ 50
