Fifty circular plates each of radius 7 cm and thickness 1/2 cm are placed one above another to form a solid right circular cylinder. Find the total surface area and the volume of the cylinder so formed.​

The height of the cylinder would be the thickness of each plate multiplied by no. of plates.

Height(h)= 1/2*50 cm=25 cm

we have given the radius as 7 cm.

Calculating TSA and volume.

TSA of cylinder= 2πr(h+r)

Putting values we get

2*22/7*7*(25+7)

44*32=1408 cm^2

Volume of cylinder=πr^2h

Putting values we get

22/7*7^2*25

22*7*25=3850 cm^3
