Fig.17.07 shows a running track in which AF=CD=100m and FED and ABC are semicircle whose diameters FD and AC are equal. How much will an athlete run in taking one complete round of the track?​

Answer:

Perimeter of entire figure = circumference of one circle with diameter 70m + length of FA+DC

so,

circumference of circle = 2πr = 2*22/7*35 = 220m

so total distance an athlete run in taking one complete round of the track = 220+100+100 = 420m (Ans)
