In third case the speed is constant

In first case the speed is decreasing

In second case the speed is increasing

In fourth case the speed first increases, then speed remains constant and then finally the speed decreases

Explanation:

  • If the speed does not change as time increases then in that case the speed will be constant
  • From the four graphs given it is clear from observation that in the third graph as we increase the time on the x-axis, the speed does not change
  • Therefore, in graph (iii) speed is constant

  • If we see in the graph (i) as we move along the time axis the speed decreases

  • In graph (ii) as we move along the time axis, the velocity is increasing

  • In graph (iv) for sometime, the speed is increasing, then speed is constant and finally the speed is decreasing
