Let us take a rectangle ABCD.
in which AC is a diagonal
AB=35 cm
BC=12 cm
AC=??
By pythagoras theorem ......
AC² =AB² + BC²
AC² =35² + 12²
AC² =1225 + 144
AC = √1369
AC = 37 cm
Therefore, diagonal of the rectangle = 37 cm
