Fig shows a part of an electric circuit.
The reading of ammeter is 3.0A.
Find the currents through the 10 ohm and 20 ohm resistors.​

1/10+1/20

Let the 10 Ohm resistor be R1 and 20 Ohm resistor be R2.

Let the current in 10 ohm resistor be I1

and current in 20 ohm resistor be in

reading of ammeter be I.

.:I = 3.0 Ohm

I1 = IR2 ÷ R1 + R2

= 3×20 ÷ 10 +20

=60 ÷ 30

= 2 A

.: Current flowing through R1 is 2 Ampere.

I2 = IR1 ÷ R1 + R2

= 3 × 10 ÷ 10 +20

= 30 ÷ 30

= 1 A

.: Current flowing through R2 is 1 Ampere.
