(i) Which pot is the heaviest? Show how did you arrive at your answer. [2]





(ii) Each pot contains equal volume of water and is heated by a hot plate that supplies thermal energy at the same rate.
Calculate in which of the pots water will boil first? [3]





(iii) After the water in each of the pots had boiled, the pots are removed from the hot plate and allowed to cool. Heat is lost from the pots at the same rate. Explain in which pot water will be at the highest temperature? [2]




(iv) Discuss the advantage of metal Y over the other two metals. [2]
