Area of shaded region - Area of circle - Area of square
- Area of square = side² = 7² cm² = 49cm²
- The diagonal of the square forms the diameter of the circle
- In ΔABC, AB²+BC² = AC²
- 49 + 49 = AC²
- AC = 7√2 cm
- Hence, diameter of circumscribing circle = 7√2cm
- Radius = 7√2/2 cm
- Area of circle = πr² = 22/7 × 7√2/2 × 7√2/2 =77cm²
- Hence, area of shaded region = 77cm² -44cm² = 33 cm²
