Figure (4) shows a variegated leaf (i.e leaves which have areas with different colours), whose starch is removed by placing it in the dark for 48 hrs. Black paper is then fixed as shown and the plant is exposed to sunlight. After 24 hours, which part of the leaf – A, B, C or D contains starch and why?
