Calculation:
Average velocity is defined as the ratio of the total displacement to the total time taken to complete the displacement.
Now , avg. v = ∆x/∆t , so we can say that:
- The slope of the the displacement time graph gives us the instantaneous velocity.
- But when an object is moving in a single directions, average velocity is directly proportional to the instantaneous velocity of the object.
So, higher the slope (steep-ness) of curve , higher will be the average velocity for that rabbit.
Since the graph for rabbit B is steeper , hence it has higher average velocity than rabbit A.
