Figure shows the London eye. It has 32 capsules equally spaced around the edge of a large vertical wheel of radius 60 m. The wheel rotates about a horizontal axis such that each capsule has a constant speed of 0.26 m s–1. Calculate the time taken for the wheel to make one complete rotation

As said in the question wheel of the radius =60m.

therefore the perimeter of the circle would be

2πr i.e 2×22/7×60 = 376.99m .

now the wheel is rotating at a constant speed of 0.26 m/s.

so dividing the perimeter of the circle(distance)/by speed= time taken.

therefore 376.99/0.26=1449.96 seconds. which after further divison will give 24.16 minutes.
