Answer: The tension in the string is 2 N.

Explanation:

Given that,

Force f = 10 N

Angle \theta = 60^0

We know that,

F = ma

The total acceleration of the system is

a = \dfrac{Fcos\theta}{m_{1}+m_{2}}

a = \dfrac{10\times 1}{2\times5}

a = 1 m/s^2

Therefore, the tension acting on the 2 kg block is

T = ma

T = 2\times 1

T = 2 N

Hence, The tension in the string is 2 N.
