Explanation:

  • We know that acceleration of the masses in horizontal direction is = \frac{F}{m + M}
  • When there is no slipping, the acceleration of both the masses will be equal.
  • For stationary condition, F_{p} cosθ = mgsinθ,  where F_{p} is pseudo force

        mFcos θ/(m + M) = mg sinθ

        F = g(m + M) tanθ

Hence, the value of the force is g(m +M) tanθ.
