Filament of an electric bulb is made up of tunstan, explain why?

tungsten is metal having high melting point like upto 3380 degree Celsius and as it has high melting point is doesnt gets melted when eletricity passes through it hence tungsten is used in electric bulbs

The melting point and resistivity of tungsten are very high. It does not burn very easy at a high temperature. The electric lamps glow at very high temperatures. Hence, tungsten is mainly used as heating element of electric bulbs.
