The filament of the bulb is made up oftungsten because it is an alloy. Alloys do not oxidise ( burn ) easily compared to metals like copper. Hence thefilament will not get burnt up quickly and we dont have to keep changing it.

they did not chose copper or silver because they are good conductor of electricity
