CHOROPLETH METHOD
IS USED IN TINT OF COLOUR
Answer:
Desmet method the use of tint of colour is used to show the entire subdivision.
Explanation:
The Desmet Method, commonly referred to as Desmetcolor, is a technique for restoring the colours of early silent films that have previously undergone either of the following processes:
- Film tinting is a technique that gives an image a uniform coloration
- Toning is the process of solely colouring the dark areas of an image
- A synthesis of above two
It was created by Noël Desmet, a restorer and film archivist.
The produced black and white inter-negative is initially printed onto contemporary colour print paper in an initial printing pass for the replication of a print coloured solely by tinting. In a subsequent printing run, the same piece of film is flashed with the appropriate colour of light.
The end result is essentially just a coloured image over a black and white image, but the illusion is very good. While using coloured lights or filters, one has more latitude to try to recreate the colours as they could have appeared initially.
Thus, the Desmet process has mostly financial advantages because negative black and white film is still often less expensive than colour film.
