Conserve the total internal energy,

Molar specific heat at const. vol = C

nCΔT = n₁C₁ΔT + n₂C₂ΔT

Taking ΔT to be same as the chenge in temp. for each constituent in a mixture will be same,

2C = C₁ + C₂

C = (1.5 + 2.5)R/2 = 2R
