According to me this is a very interesting question. In this question,we need to

dd the most appropriate most from the given list.So that after adding the word

it makes a senseful sentence with a proper meaning. Thus, we must add the word "at" to make the whole sentence meaningful.

Our plane stopped "at" Mumbai on the way to Iran"

Words like on,at,in,are,is make a sentence meaningful.Wrong application or mismatch can make your answer meaningless.

Answer:

The plane stopped in Mumbai on the way to Iran.

Explanation:

Prepositions are words to join a noun, pronoun and to make a sentence complete. Various pronouns are in, on, at, of, for, with, during, etc.

Normally we use in, at, and on when we talk about the location.

  • 'In' is used while referring to neighborhood, countries, cities, i.e.., places with boundaries.
  • 'At' is generally used in referring to Addresses. For example-12 Mansion road, or specific location - For example - home.

Here, 'in' is the correct preposition to be used for a place, that is Mumbai.
