1) Atlantic ocean and the Pacific ocean are the extensions of the Indian ocean. These three share the same water. Just the names are different when it touches a different continent.

2) Kanyakumari is the Southernmost part of India, which is located in Tamilnadu. Arabian sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian ocean merge together at this southern tip.

3) Palk strait is the one that separates India from Srilanka. The southernmost part of India and the Northernmost part of Srilanka, the Jaffna are connected through this strait  

4) The Deccan peninsula is the largest plateau that guards the southern and western India. The Indian ocean is found here.
