Vacuole : Tonoplast :: Animal cell : Cell membrane

Tonoplast is a of membrane like structure that surrounds the vacuole .

In the case of an animal cell ; it has a membrane too . This membrane is call cell membrane and separates the cell's structure from others .

Both of them have a similar function hence , using cell membrane to fill up the blank will be meaningful.

If instead of Animal cell we are given plant cell we can write either Cell wall or cell membrane.

Supplementary information :

  • Animal cell is a type of cell found in animals.

  • Animal cells are eukaryotic i.e have nucleus and show organelles like Mitochondria , Golgi bodies , small vacuoles , Ribosomes , Endoplasmic reticulum and show cell membrane.

  • Plant cells show cell wall that is absent in animal bodies and lack centrioles and centrosomes that are found in animal cells. All others are same.

  • Plant cells have large vacuoles.
