Tenses:

Verbs in a sentence should be in the proper tense according to the time when the action is in the sentence.

  1. I have been learning English for seven years now. Here, the action began in the past, continued for a duration, and has been going on till now. Hence, have been along with the present participle progressive form of 'learn' is used.
  2. At the moment, I am revising English grammar. Here, the action is taking place now, and hence present progressive tense is used.
  3. After my apprenticeship maybe I will go back to London. Here, the action refers to a future period and the action is based on an assumption. Hence, future tense in an indicative form is used.
  4. And I have already begun to read the texts in my English textbook. Here the action has started earlier and hence present perfect simple tense is used.
