5/-13   =  (-35)/91:

1) The both fraction are equal to each other.

2) When we solve the second fraction, we get:

  • (-35)/91
  • -5×7/13×7

7 will cut out as it is a common term.

  • -5/13

Which is equal to the first fraction given.

3)There is a difference in the place of the negative sign in the fraction but that won't make any difference.

Answer:(5/-13)= (-35/91) Because, First we write each of the given numbers with a positive denominator. = (5/-13) = [(5× (-1))/ (-13×-1)] = (-5/13) The LCM of the denominators 13 and 91 is 91 ∴ (-5/13) = [(-5×7)/ (13×7)] = (-35/91) and (-35/91) = [(-35×1)/ (91×1)] = (-35/91) Now, -35 = -35 ⇒ (-35/91) = (-35/91) ⇒ (-5/13) = (-35/91) Hence, (5/-13) = (-35/91)Read more on Sarthaks.com - https://www.sarthaks.com/745618/fill-in-the-blanks-with-the-correct-symbol-out-of-and-5-13-35-91
